In 509 B.C. Rome voted and chose to never have a king again. This is when Rome created a Republic, this meant that the people would elect leaders to make political decision for them. At the beginning of this republic, two groups of people rose to power, the Plebeians and Patricians. By 390 B.C. Rome had conquered all of the Italian Peninsula. However, after they conquered them, they gained friendship and respect with the people they overthrew.
